Naftzger Therapy
Background
Katherine NaftzgerAs an adopted Korean adult, I utilize my personal and professional experience in my work. I believe that the way that we experience being adopted, whether domestically, internationally and/or transracially, is as complex as we are. It is intricately intertwined with our genetic tendencies, our relationship with our adoptive parent(s) and where we are in our life. Being adopted is not just about loss and separation. It challenges our assumptions about family, race, attachment and identity.

I have been working with adopted children, adults and adoptive parents for many years. Along with my private practice, I have presented at organizations such as Adoption Organization of New England and Children’s Hospital, Boston. At The Brookline Community Mental Health Center, I was a member of the Asian team and co-led the Diversity Team.
